“Time is Life, when you wasted Time, you wasted your Life!”

On my previous posting on The Seven Sins on Personal Time Waster, I received this comment “Life is about having time to do the things we want. We are way busy for anything outside of that realm. And the busy person can always find time to do things..Many take care of what is absolutely important and the other things can often get procrastinated. SO do what you want and what is important and who cares what anyone things. or says carol stanley author “For Kids 59.99 and Over” from Carolee who had written a book entitled “For Kids 59.99 and Over”,

“To be Seventy Years young is sometimes for more cheerful and hopeful than to be forty years old.” Oliver Wendall Holmes

It is interesting to know that if you asked ten persons on “What they Wanted in Life?” Almost all of them will tell you what they wanted in life, be it materials or spiritual. But when you asked, “Have they achieve what they wanted? or “What are they doing now in order to achieve what the wanted?” Most probably, most of the answer will be “No Time”

I totally agreed with Carolee that we should tale care of what is absolutely important the other thing scan get procrastinated. But many people procrastinated the important things and do the trivial things as their priority as it “seemed’ to be more urgent most of the time. When we asked them to do the ‘Important things in Life” No Time is the most common reason and  the same people who said they have no time, will have  pretty of time doing unproductive things that wasted their time away.

A close cousin of No Time is ” I am too young for that” or “I am too old for that” To these people, there should be an “Ideal age’ for them  to do certain things, what they don’t realize is that by the time, they think they are ready, opportunity had already been gone or had been taken away by someone else.

If you think you are too old in pursuing your dream or things you wanted, read this news article: Woman pursues college degree at 73 years old

And If you think you are too young to do something meaningful for some one or the community watch this video.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “We do not count a man’s years until he has nothing to count.”

The Ideal time on doing something meaningful to you if now, there is not better time than now, don’t drip your life away. Get a copy of “Bring Out The Best In You’ Here

Learn from your Mistake

A friend of mine send me these positive word and photos, ten in total. Each photo came with a quotation which I find it very inspiring. I do not know where he got it, any way, I like the photo and positive word on the photo, and good thing need to be share, so I decided to share them here for the next ten Sunday on Point To Ponder with all of you with a little of my own personal insight.

Experience

How do you see mistake? Most people do not like to make  mistake for the simply reason that mistake equal “wrong doing” and it’s “painful” most of the time.

How many mistakes do we make since birthday, personally I think it is countless, we just cannot count how any mistakes we have made. Do you remember your first fall when you were trying to hold on to anything when you are learning to walk? Oh the fall, it was painful, wasn’t it?

DO you remember the first time you jump into the warm water pail when you mum was preparing the water for you to take bath? It was painful, wasn’t  it?

Do you remember your first fall when you were learning to ride a bicycle, not only falling, you also might be bleeding. It was painful, wasn’t it?

Do you remember your first date? You first job interview? It was terrible, wasn’t it when you think back. But wasn’t it because of all this painful experience that make you who you are today. Never be guilty of making mistakes, when we came out of this mistake determine who we will become. It took Thomas Edison ten thousand mistakes to perfect the light bulb, and one thousand fail approach to make Colonel Sandler KFC what it is today.

Years later, we all will all experience  the wisdom of our own mistake which make who we are today. Life is risky but the one who make not mistakes, make no progress.

“Dost thou love life? then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of.” Benjamin Franklin

On my previous post on The Seven Sins of Personal Time Wasters, Carolee of Spectacular Life after Sixty, has leave a comment ” Life is about having time to do the things we want……. Take care of what is absolutely important and the other things can often get procrastinated…..”

Like Benjamin Franklin said time is life, if you waste time, you wasted you life. And Carolee had put it aptly that we must do the thing we want and what is important to us,not to other people. Too many people care too much about what other people think and they live  their life fulfilling other people wishes other than their own. In one of my earlier post, I wrote about a girl who wasted seven years just to fulfill her parents wishes, but later pursue her own dream.

So know the Seven sins of personal time waster and try to avoid them by learning to over come them, here are some suggestion,

1. Trying to do too many things at one time.

Know you limits and don’t try top prove something to someone, live your life not their! Be realistic and keep in perspective on what you wanted in your life.

2. Unable to say “NO” when approached for help.

Try to stay away from getting too involved in many things because of doing a favor and wanting to be appreciate. Go buy your self a drink for  rejecting  a favor requested by other people which have no relevancy to your life.

Don’t try to be Mister Nice or Miss Nice.Thing will still get done without you. Let other have the chance to show their ability.

3. Lack of planning in carryout your duties.

There is a saying which stated “No One Plan to fail, but many  fail to plan.” Identify what is Important and what is not. Prioritize them on your task list. Do the most important thing first.

4  Lack of Discipline

Know what you key results are and set objectives in completing them, realize that people do what you inspect and not what you expect, same for every body, so constantly inspect your own task. Complete the task before putting it down to look for new one.

5. Procrastination

Schedule your daily tasks which the most important one at  top of the installation. Reward yourself for completing a given task.  Recognize that every delay in complete a task will cause more work to be done in future.

6 Too Much Socializing

Recognize that life will go on without you, so forget about the notion that your gang need you. Distinguish between pure networking socialization and needless socializing.

7. Lack of Focus

Recognize that a bird in hand is better than ten birds on the tree branches. Distarction is cause by in-discipline so, know what is your priority  and complete it first before moving to the next. Set deadline for everything you do.

Time wasters are often caused by lack of self discipline and not know our priority in life, take sometime to really sit down and think it over, what do you want to achieve in your life, like in the eginning of this post, the comment posted by Carolee. “Life is about having time to do what we wanted…” Don’t wasted too much time to find out what you really wanted in life?  For when you wasted time, you wasted life.

“It has been my observation that most people get ahead during the time that others waste.”

Henry Ford: Founder, Ford Motor Company

One of the most common answer when you ask someone to embark in personal development program like reading books on  biography of successful people, attending seminar and talk to change their life is “I don’t have time!”

Dr. Norman Vincent Pierce once said, “The only person who do not have time is six feet under ground.”  Everyone have 24 hours, no more no less. How come there are some people who seem to have more time than other and achieve more things and even have time to be with their family or doing charity work,. Do this people have more time or they have some magic power that allow them to do several things at one time.

Many people never realized that they actually wasted a lot of their precious time without them knowing it. Below is seven time wasters in our every day activities, see if you have some of them.

1. Trying to do too many things at one time. (See no magic here)

Over ambitious, over estimate you ability and underestimate the effort needed in doing the task that you are having.

2. Unable to say “NO” when approached for help.

Always wanted to be Mister Nice or Miss Nice. Accept what ever things or tasks that your colleague or superior, friend or relative asking you for a favor.

3. Lack of planning in carryout your duties.

Have the belief that some small tasks can be completed within a short time, never seriously schedule your time. Never give yourself some buffer time.

4  Lack of Discipline

Do not have the tenacity of getting your things done first before thinking of having fun.

5. Procrastination

Habit of doing easy task first and leaving the difficult task later and leaving the task uncompleted.

6 Too Much Socializing

Believe that man is a social animal and always have the desire to be in the “gang” as if without you, world will stand still.

7. Lack of Focus

Easily distracted by new events coming your way and loosing interest in your current endeavor.

So here it is, the Seven “sins” on time wasters, come to think of it, I may have committed all the seven sins in time wasters.

How many have you committed?

Come back for the next posting on their cure.

While walking down the hall, the MD met the janitor. The janitor saw that the MD was not very please and started talking to him and found out the reason why th eMD is not very happy. To teh surprise of teh MD, the janitor just said, “Sir, it is simple, just enlarge the outlet of the toothpaste tube a little, when the consumer squeeze the paste out, it iell squueeze out more and use up the tube of toothpaste faster, faster usage means they have to buy more regularly.”

I first saw this You Tube video on Britain Got Talents in a seminar, yes self improvement seminar, and both me and my wife found it very touching especially when you know how Simon rate many of the participants in American Idols show.

Many of us have talents that we have but never knew and as such never “unleash” into full potential, one of the best thing about this live show is it gave a platform for many of the hidden talents to be discovered or shall I say, “Potential Unleashed”. But before it can be unleashed, do you have the courage to face the challenges and possible failure and may be the cynical remark and sarcasms labeled onto you. My son, Sean (age 9) registered for a chess competition even-though he skill is just so so, but we encourage him to participate, Success is not overnight, you need to build it overtime, but when the opportunity come, you must be ready to grab it.

Here are a video about Taking Up The Challenge when the Opportunity came, hope you like it. After seeing it in the seminar, my wife keep on bugging me to find it in You Tube, so I did and share this with all of you if you haven’t seen it. Never give any excuse on our route to success.

The Largest Room In the World

“The Largest Room in The World is the Room for Self Improvement.” Sydney Newton Bremer Ph.D.

What is your view on Self Improvement? Is it a virus that you have contacted like in The Disease of Self-Improvement post and always has this feeling of lack or making to believe that you have know everything, or a cup that’s is always half empty that need regular refill but do not want to Changing The Size of Your Cup.

As I have mentioned that I suffer from Chronic disease on Self Improvement to me,Self Improvement is Necessary in what ever stage of our life. Some people equate self improvement to motivation and positive thinking, or positive mental attitude, I think they must be looking at the sky inside a coconut shell.

How about improving your knowledge on

1.Financial intelligence It is not how much you earn but how much you keep and INVEST that count. How many once a super star in sport and entertainment die poor.

2. Business strategy Do you know 95% of business failed within the first 5 years of their operation? Many people thought they own a business, in actual they only own a Job!

3. Marketing and sales My Marketing Guru said, “In Business, nothing move without marketing!” The best mouse trap may not capture the most mice? Interesting.

4. Child Relationship Many parents say the will have quality time with their children, do you know that all they want is your time, not “quality”time? Children grow up so fast that when we have the time with them, they are not children any more!

5.Spiritual development Keeping peace of mind in adversity, know your inner self and value and have a balance life.

6.Music Learn to play some musical instrument, just found a blog that have all the answer on Guitar. You just need to see it if you are a Guitar lover.

7.Photography (Oh, I like that) A must see for photography enthusiasts, see the works of Susanne Daily photos, simply amazing. Every one can take photographs, especially good scenery photos when the place itself is already beautiful, but these, need skill and a flair in photography.

or simply brushing up your online and internet knowledge and skills. I recently took up a challenge, not the Success Motivational Challenge that I normally listed on my blog post but a Thirty Days Challenge to earn extra ten dollars. Am I nut, no, I love challenges, mental not physical, that is how I keep my mind fresh and alert. Well, about this challenge, that is another story. If you are interested, find out here,Thirty Days Challenge, it’s Free to participate.

For those who think that they did not need any self improvement, read this,

“The Largest Room in The World is the Room for Self Improvement.” Sydney Newton Bremer Ph.D. and to end this post, just wanted to share a story,

Once there was a very smart and intelligent young man, who learn very fast and seemed to know lot of things and become the idol of the village people. The young man thought that he did not need any self improvement as he “knew” everything.

One day, a traveler came to his village and mentioned about a Zen Master who know many things about life. This young man was very angry, how can some one know more than him. So he set out to find this Zen Master to challenge him and he did.

The young man realized that The Zen master is really someone who know more things about life than him after he met the Zen Master and he decided to learn from the Zen master. The Zen Master look at the young man and then he lifted up a tea pot start pouring the tea into a small cup, he pour and pour until the cup was full, but the zen master did not seem to stop pouring and the tea spill over to the table but he keep pouring. When the young man saw the tea was flowing down the table onto the floor, he shouted to the Zen Master to stop pouring, otherwise, the room will be wet.

The Zen Master look at the young man, calmly took up the tea pot and pour away the tea leaves inside, add new tea leaves and hot water, pour away the tea inside the small cup and start pouring the new tea but stop when it was full. Then the Zen Master said to the young man, “To have fresh cup of tea, you need to empty your cup first.”

Well, I am still emptying my cup, how about you?

Is It Really just A Coincidence? by Jim Francis

Many see coincidences as embedded in a higher, transcendental force, a cosmic “glue,” as it were, which binds random events together in a meaningful and coherent pattern. The question has always been: could such a harmonizing principle actually exist?Or are skeptics right in regarding this as a product of wishful thinking, a consoling myth spawned by the intellectual discomfort and capriciousness of chance?

Mathematician Warren Weaver, in his book, Lady Luck: The Theory of Probability, recounts a fascinating tale of coincidence that stretches our traditional notions of chance to their breaking point.

The story originally appeared in Life magazine. Weaver writes:
All fifteen members of a church choir in Beatrice, Nebraska, due at practice at 7:20, were late on the evening of March 1, 1950.

The minister and his wife and daughter had one reason (his wife delayed to iron the daughter’s dress) one girl waited to finish a geometry problem; one couldn’t start her car; two lingered to hear the end of an especially exciting radio program; one mother and daughter were late because the mother had to call the daughter twice to wake her from a nap; and so on.

The reasons seemed rather ordinary. But there were ten separate and quite unconnected reasons for the lateness of the fifteen persons. It was rather fortunate that none of the fifteen arrived on time at 7:20, for at 7:25 the church building was destroyed in an explosion.

The members of the choir, Life reported, wondered if their delay was “an act of God.” Weaver calculates the staggering odds against chance for this uncanny event as about one chance in a million.

Coincidences such as these, some say, are almost too purposeful, too orderly, to be a product of random chance, which strains somewhat to accommodate them. But then how do we explain them?

Another definition for SYNCHRONICITY

Synchronicity at this point can be defined as a series of seemingly unrelated events which are connected via a hidden agenda.

The recent publication of the SUPERSTRING theory indicates that there may well be ten dimensions in existence, not merely the four that ones senses are currently aware of. (Length, breadth, width, time)

There is now considerable mathematical proof to indicate that ten dimensions exist.  And most quantum physicists have given serious consideration to this theory.  It would appear that the “hidden agenda” of synchronistic events may be transparent and obvious in one or more of these ten dimensions, but become opaque and difficult to fathom when viewed in our current restricted four dimensions.

And there is now at last a small amount of evidence to indicate that when an individuals subconscious mind-set is modified to encourage positive PK synchronistic events (luck) then synchronistic elements may be set into play which materialistic as PK Luck events in our “real time” dimension.

And conversely when a person becomes aware of a series of synchronistic events they can use this special knowledge to trigger a burst of luck.

What has been definitely proven however is that the mind-set of an individual influences their interaction with the environment, to an extent which can leave a person “stunned” at the positive results.

What I have discovered over the past 4 years is that if I call up a dream program to “induce” synchronistic events in my waking life ….then instruct my mind to consciously recognize these events as a synchronistic train….I can usually recognize where they are leading to and be there at the right time and place to take advantage of them.

I have personally had at least a dozen of these recognizable synchronicity trains in the past 3 years and each one has bought me sometimes quite incredible luck. So much so that friends here in Vanuatu keep telling me how lucky I am!!

Jimmy is about to finish high school, he is so happy and at last he could has his dream fulfill owning a car of his own as promised by his father, never mind if it’s a second hand car. Jimmy father enthusiastically  joining him to go all over the dealers in town to look for his dream car.

On his graduation day, Jimmy was so happy and rushing back home to have a feel and drive of his dream car. On reaching home, the car porch was empty, may be it was hiding some where,he thought.Entering his house, Jimmy’s  father smilingly walked toward Jimmy and told him, “Son this will be the perfect gift for your graduation.” Handed over, Jimmy saw a Bible with gold plated edge. A sudden rush of disappointment and anger get over to Jimmy head, “What is he trying to do, he knew I wanted a car!” Jimmy storm out of the house and never come back.

Thirty years later, Jimmy received a message that his old man had died and he went back to his home town attending his father funeral. Going back to his old house, nothing seems to change, he walk into his room, it was kept exactly the same as the day he left the house thirty years ago. His bed, his favorite postal, the furniture and Jimmy spotted one thing extra, it was the Bible his father gave him the day he graduated. Jimmy can never forget that day when he had the biggest disappointment of his life

Picking up the Bible, the memory of his father come back and Jimmy remember the old good days he had with his father but that very day, ruined it all. Jimmy slowing opening up the Bible and flip through, and he spotted one thing, it was a check. A check with the exact amount on the cost of the car he wanted dated on his graduation day. Jimmy suddenly understood what he father was trying to do, but it’s all too late.

Never Let Your Anger Rule Over Your Heart, and if you have something to say to someone, do it now, don’t wait. Time wait for no one. Don’t live to regret about it.
