1. Conditioning of Elephant by a small rope! - What is Holding You Back?
In Thailand, elephants are trained to do many things, from carry timber logs, ferrying tourists to entertain tourists. These elephants were trained when they were very young. The trainer would tie one of their leg of the young elephant with a rope and on the other end tie it to a piece of wood that nailed to the ground.
When the young elephant wanted to move away from the rope length, the rope would be tightening and causing pain to the young elephant leg. After a long period of trying and lots of pains, the young elephant will associate pain with moving away from the rope. This had become a firm condition and even when the elephant had grow up, the condition remain in their mind. What the adult elephants did not aware is that with their size and strength as an adult elephant, the tiny rope could not hold them at all. All they need to do is to just move a little further and they will be FREE. But the pain of moving away from the rope length had been deep rooted in their mind that it will cause pain, thus they remain moving within the radius of the rope length.
It is amusing to see that such a tiny rope can hold a huge, strong and powerful full grown elephant that can carry timber log from the jungle but cannot break free from a tiny rope that tie to a small piece of wood!
The elephant has been hold back by a tiny rope that tie to a small piece of wood from young!
