Complicated is interesting, Simple is powerful and effective!

At time, we were so engross in getting thing done that we; as the Chinese proverb said, “drilling the bull hone.” Well not really drilling, but getting yourself into a situation whereby you find yourself trap by your own act. We tend to complicate thing as if, when we make thing simple, people might not interested and may look future business prospects.

A few day ago, I attended a entrepreneurship for youth seminar and heard a story describing the power of simplicity and effectiveness. The speaker was a special guest to the seminar as he is the deputy minister of entrepreneurship. The minister related a story on making thing simple to be effective.  This is what he shared,

When the Russian and American were competing on the space power by sending astronauts to space, there  is one very big issue; that is to report on the observation and experiment they have have in the space shuttle or space station. However, the ink just couldn’t work in a zero-gravity situation but report have to be written, being innovative, the American started to research on how to invent a pen with can write in such a situation, millions of dollars had been spend and they finally got it.

On the other side, the Russian also have similar issue and thinking hard about it, the report needed to be written, however, it need not necessary be written in ink, so they decide to write the report with carbon pencil. To make it simple.

So, before you embarked on any venture they is complicated, think first, is it necessary? Just make things simple!
