Welcome back!
I used to buy one newspaper on my way sending my children to school but not today. I decided not to buy any as I can guess the headlines and major news; rising petrol prices, rising cost of living and herds of people jamming the supermarket to buy daily essential before the next increase.
My friends always wonder why I did not subscribe to any newspaper as it’s cheaper than to buy it everyday. Now they might know why. In between saving a couple of dollars a month and the freedom of choice on what I choose to read for the day, I preferred the later. You see, Life is Make up of many Choices. You got to make the right choice for your day. How could your day be happy when what you see in the morning headlines, full blown color page; all of negative news and many others”bad news” that suck your energy away. Worse of all, almost every one you meet is talking about almost the same issue on the “headlines” whenever you give them an opening to talk about it; so you get spiral downward and more energy is being suck away and never got out of it for the day.
I personally think i had made the right choice not to read any newspaper today. I guess I will do it for quite a while. Interestingly, I heard very little about on the rising price of petrol and other daily essential today, oblivious to it. And I have the great pleasure to have lunch with an old friend, whom I regularly meet. He is one of the most positive guy I ever knew since school day. Because of the petrol price increased, his recent contract had immediately incurred an additional cost of over $150,000, that has eroded into his profit and may suffer losses. Like my previous post mentioned, You Always have TWO CHOICES, continue the work and suffer more losses or abandon the job and cut loss.
Let’s pause for a moment to see what majority The Herd’s Mentality on choices reacted.
I log into a community site to look for a contact to ask something, before I even have a chance to look for what wanted, there in the community hot topic, a list of blog posts about rising petrol prices. The most amazing things are; these bloggers came out with all sorts of ways to save a few penny on petrol. Creativity use in the wrong sense. Why wasting so much energy in focus on the negative.
I learn a very good lesson in The Millionaire Mind Intensive seminar, EVERYTHING IS ENERGY! Always put your energy into positive use. I find it very very very interesting on people who can tell you hundreds of way to save on petrol, cutting coupons to pay cheaper price in supermarket but still complaining Money Not Enough! and there will never have enough! for that is that thought which become thing! (The Secrets)
Now back to my old friend, what did he chose to do? The fact that he couldn’t change the price of the petrol, something beyond his control, he FOCUS on how to build up the momentum of his workers so that they can completed the project earlier while maintaining the quality of their work. This would reduce some unnecessary wastage and saving on many incidental cost and more importantly have ample time to prepare and work on bigger and better margin project. As it is now, his clients had the intension of given him a bigger share of the next contract. WHAT YOU FOCUS ON EXPAND!
An important sharing from this friend of mine, “Those people who FOCUS on running around looking to fill their petrol tank the night before it price rises, have SHORT TERM THINKING! How much can you save for that particular moment? A hundred for the next few days or weeks? And worse still, the next increase? What we need is to have LONG TERM FOCUS. What we should Focus is to see whether there is any opportunities exist in this adversity for us to increase our earning to counter the inflation.”
You always have TWO CHOICES, so what is your choice? I choose to have a LONG TERM FOCUS so much so that in order to remind myself on my long term GOAL written during the The Millionaire Mind Intensive seminar, I registered a domain www.ebiznesmillionaire.com so, every time I see this domain, I will not loose sight on my long term goal.
What you focus on Expand! So
Where is your focus?
