Welcome back!
In my last post, Am i crazy, TheGreatStone.com commented that “To be really honest though, I was laughing a bit because I tried to envision myself in the same situation/scenario. In all honesty, I probably would have just tried to ignore the pigeon too.” Frankly, I would too as most people just wanted to be normal and do not wanted to be the odd one.
And interestingly, carol stanley raised a very good question, “How does one go home not depressed from hearing all the stuff…???” Good Question Indeed. As we are not the psychiatrists, we cannot feel what they felt, and Harish suggested a solution, “One has to be free first – free of all dilemmas and then things become really simple to handle.” But Harish, my friend; you forgot to offer solution. It is easy said than done, but luckily I have an anecdote that might just do the work. Before that let me share a note form a stress management guru.
In a seminar about stress management, the guru asked the participants how many of them think that they can handled stress all the time? There were many hands raised and to them, the guru asked again, “How long do you think you can sustain the pain and suffering caused by stress?” There were lot of argument and suggestions and a few even challenge the guru that they don’t feel anything even though they knew they were stressful, they were strong enough to handle all that.
To the brave few, the guru asked him to volunteer for a demonstration, he pick up a few bottles of 500ml drinking water, asked these brave few men and women to stand in front of the class with both their hands stretch straight out. Then he handled each of them two bottles of drinking water and asked them to hold on as long as they could. It was easy for the first few minutes, as the clock ticked away, a one or two started to feel the stress and muscle started to ache and their hands no longer hold straight. Few minutes later, they conceded they no longer can hold the stress. A few of the more stronger volunteers still smiling as if they really can hold for eternity.
The guru congratulate them but politely asked them to stay where they are and continue his sharing on stress management, as time pass, one by one, they conceded defeat by the prolong stretching of their hands. But there was still a very brave one who are still holding straight but everyone can see clearly that he was suffering form the pain and muscle ache and the sweat dripping from his forehead even though they are in a air conditioning room. So the training continue and a couple of minutes later, the very brave one suddenly just collapse from where he stand, gave up trying and conceded defeat to the guru.
Every one of us has stressful moment every now and then, some handle it better than the rest and get over it faster. But the danger comes when one feel that they can handle it all by himself or herself and keep it to themselves; It is a matter of time, it will explode and caused even more harm. Never believe that you can handled stress as long as you like. Talk to someone, let’s go and let God. I can’t remember who said that but you just need to share with some one some time.
And if you want a good read on Stress Management, here us a good one, from All In The Head part 2. from TheGreatStone.com I can’t say any better.

Dear Friend,
I agree with you that its harder to tel a solution than to just tell the reasoning. In my view its first the start up point – the recognition of what we have that is not right. Then we proceed to the next step – how to fix it.
Your posts are a must read and I express my sincere thanks to you. I will try to put some views regarding this subject in my blog.
Sincerely…
