600 persons, 600 backgrounds, 600 different expectations. So it is very difficult in an event like UYMG to satisfy each and every one of them, and it reminds me of a story that I heard many many years ago; and it read like this;

One day, a village was facing the worse rain storm of the century. The rain storm was so bad that it raise the river water level so fast that evacuation warning was giving and the villagers were moving to higher ground. When score and score of the villagers has fled their home, one man refused to move an inch. When he was asked by other why he did not want to follow the other villagers, his answer was simple, “I am a faithful follower of God, I pray to him every day, God will save me.” So he remain.

The water soon rise to waist height, a sampan came and want to bring the man from his house, he refused and replied, “God will help me!” And the sampan left. Soon the water rise to one floor high, a speed boat came and wanted to rescue him, he refused and said, ” God will help me!” So the speed boat  left. The flood water eventually rise to roof level and the man was standing on top of the roof, all the villagers had fled. Then a helicopter came and the rescuer asked the man, “Come on up, the water is rising fast!” The man was adamant insisted that God would help him. He eventually drown and go to haven. He met God and ask, ” God, I am such a faithful follower and pray to you every day, why didn’t you help me?”

God reply, ” Son, I have sent you a sampan, a  speed boat and even a helicopter, but each time you refuse to accept it, what more you wanted me to do?”  You see, sometime, we are so oblivious to the things that we appear in front of us and instead trying to look for the things things that did not show, we will always have the mentality of lack rather than abundance. The UYMG had share many valuable information, tips and strategies, but they are people who feel that it is still not enough and criticize on the promotion; and as one of the SMCC members put it; ” If they choose to focus on the sales pitches, then that is their problem”
