Today will mark the end of Beijing Olympic 2008, and there are many inspiring moment that we can learn
from many of the Olympians. Like the quote of this photo said, “Every Successful person has a painful story. Every painful story has a successful ending. Accept the pain and get ready for success.”
There are many great and inspiring moment in the Beijing Olympics but most people are inspired by the glory of the Gold Medalist especially when their National Anthem was played. If you follow closely on some of the Olympians who mere participation on the Olympics is inspiring than watching the gold medalists.
“To be here, is a dream come true. A dream is something that you set for yourself, not what other people set for you. When I qualified in Seville [at the 2008 World championships in which she finished fourth] I burst into tears. I couldn’t believe that I was going to the Olympic Games.” Natalie du Toit
What make this dream sweeter and special is that Toit a 24-year-old South African lost her left leg in a road accident in 2001, has become the first leg amputee to compete in both the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Read her story here.”
I never thought of myself as being disadvantaged, my message isn’t just for disabled people, it is for everyone. It’s to use the negatives in a good light.” Natalie du Toit
How often do we admire successful people and forgot to look at the other side of their story. Success does not come overnight, there are price to pay but when we learn to turn pain into a self motivation force like Toit, there is always a silver lining behind the dark cloud. Successful people know how to turn around against all adversity while many just succumb to the pressure and never get up. It is not how hard we fail but how fast we get up and keep going when the path ahead is tough.
“The adversity may or may not be your fault, but it’s your responsibility now to pull out of it.” Richard DeVos.
